JIM MICHALS, CO-OWNER & DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Jim Michals, a native of Newton, became involved with youth hockey programs in 2000. Originally the program coordinator for the Needham Youth Hockey Intramural program, Jim has served as the power skating and skills coach for the Boston Junior Bruins, Charles River Girls Hockey, and the Rhode Island Hitmen to name only a few. In 2004, Jim founded Stride Right Power Skating and TEAMS Training what is now known as the Michals Hockey Academy. The Academy specializes in hockey specific training on both the ice and synthetic ice.

During the day, Jim serves as President for Strategic Insurance Solutions out of Auburndale, MA. Jim and his wife, Margie, reside in Needham, MA with their three children, Matt (25), Mikayala (23), and Madison (18) and their German Shepard, Miller.

DOUG MICHALS, CO-OWNER & DIRECTOR OF GOALTENDER DEVELOPMENT

Doug Michals, a native of Newton, became involved with youth hockey programs in 1994. At this time Doug, along with Darren Hersh, established the Goalie Academy in Pennsylvania. In 2006, Doug made the decision to relocate to Boston, MA, joining the Michals Hockey Academy. Bringing a wealth of knowledge from his coaching experience with the Hershey Jr Bears, Doug became the Director of Goaltender Development for the Michals Hockey Academy.

During the day, Doug serves as Vice-Presidnet for Strategic Insurance Solutions out of Auburndale, MA. Doug and his wife, Becky, reside in Westwood, MA with their two daughters, Jessica (19) and Katelyn (16), their Miniature Dachshund, Frankie, Australian Shepard Charlie and their cat, Finn.
